Peeking Around the Corner
He walked quickly down the hallway towards the room where chattering seemed to be coming from. He opened the door just a sliver—not enough to get anyone’s attention, but enough for him to see what was going on in the room.
What he saw was a group of kids sitting in chairs, while an older group of kids stood in a line facing them. The older kids greatly outnumbered the younger ones. The girl in the middle of the line had a snarl on her face so nasty that Officer Daniels knew this wasn’t as innocent as he hoped it would be. He had no idea how right he’d be.
