The Principal’s Office
The policeman walked into Principal Weatherbee’s office. The principal looked up in surprise at the officer, but gestured for him to sit down. “To what do I owe this pleasure?” the principal said.
“I’m afraid this won’t be enjoyable, Mrs. Weatherbee. Have you noticed a girl named Lily, who has been walking around without shoes?” Officer Daniels asked. The principal had, of course, seen her, but the principal was a big fan of letting her students express themselves, and who was she to assume that every student could afford shoes? But she wasn’t prepared for what Officer Daniels had to say next.
