Angie’s babies also faced the possibility of being born with a condition known as newborn respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS), which occurs when a baby’s lungs aren’t fully developed and can’t provided enough oxygen. This leads to difficulties in breathing and they require being on a breathing machine until the baby’s lungs develop. But that’s not the only health complication her babies were facing.
