Going Downhill
Haley had dutifully attended all her scheduled checkups, and everything had been looking good so far. But at the most recent one, the doctor told her she would need to be booked into the hospital for delivery earlier than planned.
She kept Brooks updated, and that was the day it started going downhill. There were endless obstacles for him to overcome to get home for Millie’s birth. He had expected it to be simpler.
