Strict Rules
The Red Cross’s requirements were set in stone. Soldiers didn’t usually get leave to witness their children’s birth unless the pregnant woman or baby was experiencing distress – a requirement Brooks did not meet.
Brooks was well aware he wouldn’t be able to get past the rules. He would be forced to come up with another solution to get his way.
But he never could have guessed what kind of minefield he was stepping into.
