Irritation
Brooks looked up from his phone and saw that the staff looked irritated. They sympathized with him but needed to depart.
He had to decide whether he’d get to keep watching or get left behind. If he missed the flight, then he wouldn’t get to his wife in time, but then he’d have to shut off his phone.
Then something happened that he couldn’t believe.
