Tough Beginnings
A native of Bambali, Sédhiou Department, Senegal, Sadio Mané grew up in a small village. He had to live with an uncle when he was young. The parents of a large family could not raise all of their children themselves due to a lack of funds.
Sadio spent the majority of his childhood playing soccer in the village because he didn’t even have the money to go to school. Despite his modest upbringing, he had lofty goals that appeared unattainable.
