66. She Deserves Some Special Treatment
A girl in High School. We shall call her Beth. Beth was a typical teachers’ pet/special little snowflake. She was also a hypochondriac who was apparently very sick and brittle. (Coming to class covered in band-aids, and tension bandages so she didn’t have to participate in gym class).
She was also my “Friend”. (Her words, not mine. I avoided her as much as possible.) Here is a list of things she did that pissed me off:
1: She would fake panic attacks to get out of class because then she would get to go see the counselor who always gave her ice cream. (This was in grade 11).
2: She was a snitch. Any secret you tell her, she would instantly spread when your back was turned. Caught her in the act more than once.
3: Compulsive lying. See above.
4: The thing that made me absolutely hate her. She came to school wearing these expensive shoes. At the time, I was incredibly jealous. (Coming from a poor family, I was wearing a pair of my mother’s hand-me-down off-brand shoes you get at Walmart for 12 dollars).
She had them for ONE DAY. I saw her as I was leaving full-on screaming and crying that she had put a scuff in her shoes. She apparently did the only rational thing. She threw them in the trash and showed up to school the next day in an identical pair.
HER SHOES WERE BRAND NEW, AND THEY WERE APPARENTLY RUINED BY A SCUFF MARK?!?!
