68. Got Bad Blood
Not my story. But my older sister and her husband. I remember her birthday was around 20 (the legal drinking age in Canada is 19), and she invited me over for drinks and a little birthday party. I was very close with my brother-in-law.
So we are at this party, and one of my brother-in-law’s friends is very touchy with my sister. So, after a few drinks, I have had enough of this. I tossed the guy around a bit and told him to keep his hands to himself.
My brother-in-law calmed me down and told me it was nothing that that was his best friend. Fast forward one month, and he found a bunch of text messages they had been exchanging, and it was not good. Apparently, they had been having an affair for months.
So he moved out, and the other guy moved in right away. I ended up helping my brother-in-law through a lot of drunken nights where he was uncontrollably crying. The whole situation was messed up, and I’m closer to him than my sister to this day.
