Women’s Liberation march in Washington, D.C
Taken in 1970, this photo is brought to us by the strong women who led the way during the Women’s Liberation movement. In the ’70s, the movement sought social integration, equal rights and opportunities, and freedom. The decade is widely recognized as part of the “second wave” of feminism. This was a time when the movement identified women’s cultural and political inequalities. It started in the western world before eventually becoming a global demonstration. Here we have women protesting in Washington back in the ’70s.
