The punk subculture began to emerge in the United Kingdom and the United States in the mid-1970s. It was an amalgamation of the different youth cultures that persisted throughout the decades prior. By the late ’70s, it took on a life of its own. The subculture began to diversify, and new waves started coming in. Punk also laid the foundation for the underground music scene, epitomized by these guys. Here are the Sex Pistols on stage back in 1977. That crowd sure looks fun.
