A Van de Kamp’s display at a local supermarket

The Van de Kamp brand is a proud one. It was first established in 1915 as part of a Los Angeles potato chip stand by the Van de Kamp family. They would eventually expand their business to sell baked goods. In the ’50s, the brand became a local restaurant chain that specialized in batter-fried halibut. They also became one of the coolest diners in all of L.A. Here you can see a Van de Kamp display at what appears to be a Lucky or Alpha Beta store in 1972.
