Even though they go by the name of Burmese pythons, they can still be found in Southern Florida. As bizarre as these enormous snakes are, they are nothing compared to the American alligator, an aggressive top predator. In the 1970s and 1980s, Burmese pythons were first introduced to Florida when they were brought there as exotic pets.
