A Hidden Message in Everything
I had a friend who insisted she was in a relationship with a C-list celebrity whom she met once during a comic convention. She thought that all of the celebrity’s Instagram and Twitter posts were for her and everything had a secret, coded meaning behind it. When the celebrity got married, she even said that it was just for the media so that she and the celebrity could live a quiet life together. Even though it was obvious to everyone around her that she was completely and utterly delusional, she never stopped thinking that her secret relationship with him was real. When he didn’t do anything for her birthday, she had an absolute breakdown crying about how he didn’t care about her.
