A Real Marriage
The other day, my 18-year-old brother-in-law got married to his high school sweetheart in a parking garage so that they can live off campus at their Christian college together. The girlfriend’s, now wife’s, mother is an ordained minister, so it all came together pretty quickly. His parents, my in-laws, were very upset and he couldn’t understand why because, “it’s just a fake marriage for school.” Oh no, sweet boy. You are MARRIED for real. He couldn’t understand that even though his intentions were lighthearted, their marriage was just as real and legally binding as anyone else’s. I just laughed and laughed. I love him dearly. He is an idiot. Hopefully they are happy together because I don’t think he has any idea how to go about getting a divorce. hlfpint
