u/FamousSquash: “My stepfather was getting more and more tired, falling asleep during the middle of the day, sneaking off for a nap…really pissed off my mother and me. We were helping him renovate a house at the time and we didn’t appreciate him always dozing off.
A while later he got diagnosed with bladder and kidney cancer, which had already spread too far to be treatable. We only really realised after his death last spring that he was tired all the time because his cancer was already slowly killing him. I didn’t always get along with him, and I regret a lot of things I said to him. I just thought he was being lazy, I never thought he’d be dead within three years.”
