The Class Went Silent
One year, I had a pain-in-the-neck girl in my class who was pure evil. One day, she had really gotten to me and close to the end of the class, I overheard her curse at another kid, telling them to get out of the classroom.
Without thinking, I turned around and said, “Why don’t you get out” while cursing at her and pointing at the door. Her mouth dropped open, and the class went silent. She got up and walked out. I started to freak out because I had never spoken like that to a student and didn’t want to get reported.
So, I quickly walked into the hall and turned it into a learning experience for her. “Did you appreciate me saying that to you? Do you think other students appreciate it when you say it to them”? She said, “No, ma’am”.
