They Grew Up In Different Countries
“So my parents are first cousins. I found out when I was about 8 and it rarely gets brought up but it is constantly in my head. This year I’m taking my [girlfriend] of 4 years out to see my family (big wedding) for the first time and I can’t explain how scared I am that she’ll find out.
They grew up in different countries (both western countries) and got together in their thirties after failed marriages. I never know how to approach the issue as it’s just never spoken about. They divorced/separated a few years back but are still on talking terms.
Oh and fortunately no freakish deformations! Genetics doesn’t work like that.”
