Famous Crater
The Chicxulub crater is situated on the northern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico and is over 66 million years old. The massive crater is about 12 miles deep. Joanna Morgan was a professor at Imperial College in London and around the time she got involved, it was believed that dinosaurs died due to an asteroid hitting the earth and landing in Mexico.
But the true size of the Chicxulub crater is still debated to this day. But it is a fact that something massive hit the earth and created a carter as big as our moon. A surprising fact is that scientists are more afraid of the size than they are of the destruction it caused.
