“Hi there, ma’am,” he said politely. “Would you like some help? I can carry your groceries for you.” The older woman scrutinized him curiously, then nodded. “That would be great, thank you.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t have any money,” she told him. With a smile, Trevor said, “Don’t worry about that. You make me think of my mother, and I’d never ask her to pay for my help.”
