Madeline was in disbelief at her terrible fate. The distance between her place of employment and the nearest daycare made it too costly. Carrying Benjamin to school and then across the city to the brokerage every day would be a major bother. She called the agency and pleaded for another sitter, but they wouldn’t accommodate her. There had been one too many bad occurrences in her house for their staff.
