A Way of Life on the Road

We’ve traveled over a hundred thousand miles in the last six years, so this unanticipated stoppage has given us time to reflect on some of our most memorable stops along the way. The majestic Norwegian peaks, the sandy Zion National Park trails, the free-ranging Brown Bears on the border between Finland and Russia, the crystalline rivers cutting through the gorges of Slovenia, and the wild Atlantic coast of Portugal. There are many, and each one evokes a unique set of associations.

Our 2014 van trip through Norway is where we first realized we enjoyed hiking; prior to that trip, we’d never allowed ourselves to become fully immersed in natural environments. While we’re enjoying our time in brick-and-mortar homes for the time being, we’ve been reminded of why we fell in love with van life in the first place thanks to the convenience of having a mobile home. The opportunity to wake up to a different backyard and travel to exciting new locations is what keeps us going.
