England, Great Britain

We’ve logged more than a hundred thousand miles behind the wheel over the past six years, so this unanticipated stop has provided ample opportunity to reflect on some of our favorite stops along the way. The majestic Norwegian peaks, the sandy Zion National Park trails, the free-ranging Brown Bears on the border between Finland and Russia, the crystalline rivers cutting through the gorges of Slovenia, and the wild Atlantic coast of Portugal. There are many, and each one evokes a unique set of associations.

Our 2014 van trip through Norway is where we first realized we enjoyed hiking; prior to that trip, we’d never allowed ourselves to become fully immersed in natural environments. Being back in the brick and mortar world has reminded us why we fell in love with #vanlife in the first place; being able to park up in our home on wheels is what really made our love for all things travel a way of life. The opportunity to wake up to a different backyard and travel to exciting new locations is what keeps us going.
