The veterinarian suggested a high-calorie diet, immunized, dewormed, and gave the kittens treatment for their ear mites when Nicole took them in for a checkup.
They almost made a full recovery just a few weeks later. They appeared to be thriving as their stomachs rounded. Nicole was oblivious that the vet had overlooked something.
