Unexpected Gratitude
Before leaving, Griff caught the eye of the waitress who had served him. She looked apologetic as if realizing the extent of what had transpired.
She mouthed a “sorry” to him, and he gave her a small nod in acknowledgment.
As he stepped outside into the warm Tampa air, Griff’s heart was lighter than it had been in a while. He had faced adversity and stood up for what was right, and his military family had rallied around him.
