This type of special leave request had some stringent conditions attached to it. The only way it was allowable was in situations where it could be medically proven that either the mother or her infant was in distress.
Of course, Brooks and Lindsey would never hope for such a situation. Sadly, this also meant that Brooks was going to have to miss the birth of their child.
