Nikola Tesla on Stolen Ideas

Public Domain

Nikola Tesla is known as one of the greatest minds of the 19th and 20th centuries. When he first started, he worked in near poverty, which caused many of his ideas and inventions to be stolen or borrowed without his permission. And that included Thomas Edison, whom Tesla worked for when he first came to America. Many believe that Edison took credit for many of Tesla’s creations, even refusing to pay him for an invention of Edison’s that he made upgrades to. But it isn’t true that Tesla died penniless because of Edison. Tesla actually made lots of money from his AC power patent. He fell out of favor for being difficult. Before his death, he did say “I don’t care that they stole my idea. I care that they don’t have any of their own.”
