Cracker Jacks were first introduced in 1896 and soon came to be known as America’s caramel-coated popcorn. One of the major selling features was the mystery prize on the inside. Although the snack is known for the characters on its wrapper, it wasn’t until nearly two decades into the century that the company adopted the infamous Sailor Jack logo, that’s still around today. This particular ad was released for before Halloween, with the line, “the TRICK that makes the perfect TREAT- anytime.”
