Albert Einstein and Sibling
Albert and his sister, Maja, were the two children of Pauline and Hermann Einstein. Maja was Einstein’s only friend growing up. They were separated when she went to elementary school in Milan; her brother stayed behind in Munich with relatives. She lived in Italy for years with her husband until Benito Mussolini introduced anti-Semetic laws in the country. She reconnected with her brother, Albert, and moved to the US to live with him. Unfortunately, she suffered a stroke in 1946 and passed away in 1951.
