Ewok Actors from Return of the Jedi in 1982

20th Century Fox

For those who aren’t big fans of the Star Wars world, Ewoks are a race of short, furry, bipedal creatures who hail from the forest moon of Endor. They first appeared in the 1983 film, Return of the Jedi. Although CGI was already around, its use wasn’t popular until the late 90s, so people were employed instead. These Ewok actors brought the creatures to life by acting in hot and stuffy suits for 12 hours a day. Two casts of 66 little people were responsible for making these lovable, remote creatures a reality.
