The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the world’s largest of its kind and has been going on since 1924. It’s a three-hour parade held in Manhattan, New York, ending outside the nation’s largest Macy’s department store in Herald Square. Every year characters are highlighted in gigantic floats and balloons held down by parade workers. In 1939, one of the stars of the show was a now-vintage version of the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.
