When it comes to conversations in America, one that has been going on for decades is immigration. Leading up to the start of the Second World War and Hitler’s regime, many Jewish people in America were under threat to be sent back (against their will) to Europe, where they had escaped from. At the time, the United States was unaware of the concentration camps to which these targeted groups of people were being sent and thought that the Jews seeking refuge were adding strain to an economy that had not yet rebounded. This was one of the many couples who sought out help to stay together.
