Self-Promotion During the Great Depression
Finding a job without the technology that we have today was very difficult. There was probably no harder time to look for employment in the past than during the Great Depression. Nearly everyone felt the brunt of this economic downturn, which started in 1929 and went on for the next ten years. Even skilled workers, like the one in this image, found it hard to gain employment. It took a disastrous event like World War II to bring the country out of the recession.
