The 1920s Mobile Booking Cage
Another thing that was very much different in 1920 was getting pulled over by the police. It wasn’t embarrassing enough to be seen getting written up…no… One also had to suffer the indignity of being locked up and transported in a mobile booking cage, equipped with a bench for enjoying the ride. The entire device featured the aforementioned cage which looked like a real-life jail cell, along with an attached motorcycle that the officer would ride. No one can confirm whether the ride counted as time served, but many do remember it being one of the more embarrassing things that have happened in their lifetime.
