Warner Bros.

Loretta Young, at one point, was one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. She started in the business as a child and went on to win an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Farmer’s Daughter. She even had her own TV show, which won her a series of Emmy awards. In the year this image was taken by the Warner Brothers at Lake Mead (1931), she appeared in 10 films. After retiring from acting, she put all her energy into charity work, working with the mentally ill and the homeless until her passing.
