The Mini Skirt Movement of the 1960s
Eye-raising hemlines flooded the streets of London in the swinging sixties, prompting a line to be drawn in the sand. On one side were the anti-miniskirters, saying the piece of fashion was way too short and unbecoming of a lady, while the other side consisted of those bold enough to wear them, as well as the ones who designed them (Yves Saint Laurent, among others). But there were major fashion brands like Dior who despised the idea of a skirt so short. So women took to the streets to let their thoughts be known. Decades later, the mini skirt still hasn’t gone out of style and Dior has even created a few of their own too.
