Driving Into the City
John was so preoccupied thinking about the situation back at his house, that he was essentially driving on autopilot as he made his way into the city. He was angry that the situation now required him to retrieve his papers, and that he had misplaced them in the first place. In his swirling thoughts, John was focused only on getting to the deeds office. Suddenly, he realized something strange. He made a left turn and then a right, and the car behind him did the same. After a few more turns, John knew someone was following him.
