Something Feels Off
John looked out the window with a sense of relief, the mowed lawns and quiet neighborhoods a welcome sight after his deployment. However, as soon John stepped out of the cab in front of his house, the relief he felt at arriving home was quickly replaced by suspicion. Something felt off, and after years of relying on his gut instincts, John knew not to ignore a bad feeling like this. He dropped his bags by the front of the house so he had free use of his hands if he needed them, and slowly, he crept around the side of the house to enter through the back door.
