The Reason For It
It happened only a few weeks after his birth, and it was caused by an incident in the incubator where he was kept. There was an excessive amount of oxygen in it. This resulted in a disorder called Retinopathy of Prematurity.
In this disorder, the retinas separate and the eyes cease to develop. This leads to blindness. However, the situation could have been much worse.
