He Was Lost
It was as if his legs were on fire. This was the longest hike he had ever taken. Though he thought he was almost there, he was never able to locate the end.
The wet mulch beneath his boots scrunched with every step he took. As the exhausted man grew more worried, he realized he was miles from civilization.
If anything were to happen to him, no one would be able to find him. The man was lost.
