Teacher Shows Her Students an Innocent Photo, Ends up Getting Fired Shortly After

It’s an unwritten rule that teachers should leave their personal lives at the door before entering their classroom. So, it’s rare that they’ll share personal details about themselves with their students, to avoid breaking the teacher-student bond that fosters respect in the classroom.

But, when art teacher Stacy Bailey shared an innocent photo with kids at Charlotte Anderson Elementary, she ended up getting fired! Should she have left her personal life at home, or was the school overreacting to a completely normal day of show and tell?

A Small Town Teacher

As an art teacher at a local school, Stacy Bailey went above and beyond every day to fill her students’ lives with a little more cheer and laughter than they would have had otherwise.

She took it upon herself to teach the young people in front of her that they could choose to live a life that was filled with beauty and wonder, even as they grew up and took on the world around them. But her personal life wasn’t something she often shared with her students.

Her Private Life Was Private

Unbeknownst to the school and her students, Bailey was engaged to another woman. They lived happily with their dogs and were planning to get married sometime in the near future. And her fiancé thought herself very lucky that she found someone like Stacy, who held down a good job with poise.

But they didn’t see the event coming that would soon threaten that job and their relationship.

Stacy Bailey was loved by other faculty members as well as her students, so it came as a surprise one day when she found out that she had attracted some negative attention. But it wasn’t a student or even another teacher who would soon make themselves known as one of Stacy’s enemies.

A New Year

Stacy Bailey had a few tricks up her sleeve to help her prepare for the new year ahead of her and her students. It can often prove difficult to capture the attention of young people after months of summer break, so she really had her work cut out for her.

But she had no idea that this school year may be her last as an art teacher at Charlotte Anderson Elementary.
