At the farthest end of the cafeteria, Clive ate from his food tray and the mysterious paper bag. There was something strange about him sitting alone, Cassie thought.
Whenever Clive ate, a line of kids gathered around him. It made Cassie feel sad to see him alone. Before she could approach the boy, the lunch lady beat her to it.
All she could do now was stare.
