As the principal put it, “You’re quiet.”. “I want to know that you understand what I am saying. Cultural appropriation is nothing to be laughed at.”
Her head nodded in agreement. She stepped toward the principal’s desk, saying, “But is it alright if I take a few photos for my dad? He’s not around.”
