Margret Thatcher was the first woman to become Prime Minister of England. Her renowned reign began at the end of the 1970s and lasted almost 10 years. Margret Thatcher earned her nick came (the Iron Lady) through her rigid governing tactics. She wasn’t one to compromise. During her time as Prime Minister, she implemented many changes that transformed the British economy. Many were not always in favor of her governing style; she survived an assassination attempt by an opposing citizen. Luckily she survived and went on to live a long life.
