Only Priests and Priestesses Are Allowed In
Visitors are not allowed at the Ise Grand Shrine, and there is a rather large fence in front, not to mention Japanese military personnel on hand to ensure no one gets in. Only the royal family’s priests and priestesses may enter this sacred space.
