It’s not the best idea to buy a two gallon tub of mayonnaise at Costco if you don’t plan on preparing potato salad for 30 people when you get home because even in large quantities, food products still spoil. That’s why it’s better to buy food items that don’t spoil quickly in bulk. Dry products like rice and pasta can easily be bought in large quantities because they are shelf stable for one to two years.
