When the auction kicked off, Roger didn’t know more surprises were waiting for him. The auctioneer announced an opening bid of $5,000 which was higher than any price he expected.
That is well over the $50 investment he made on it, and if this was the only bid to come his way, he would have made a handsome profit from his thrift store endeavor. Yet, he was curious to know how far the bidding could go.
