To someone without a keen eye, they would think that Roger overpaid for the jacket, considering that it didn’t look anything like a normal person’s idea of high fashion. Nevertheless, he knew what he had on his hands and didn’t hesitate to pay $50 for it.
But anywhere else, the coat would have cost him even more. Certainly more than the $50 he originally paid for. It may even have gone up to thousands. So as far as he was concerned, he had himself a steal.
