Lisa sighed happily as she took a sip of her first cup of coffee. It was the start of a busy day. She enjoyed her warm drink before getting dressed for her work day.

Lisa loved space, and since she was a little girl, she loved any story that had anything to do with our galaxy. She wondered about the endless possibilities that space held within its dark and mysterious realm. It came as no surprise that she kept her job longer than any of her coworkers.

She had a smile on her face as she sat down and leaned closer to the microscope, closing one eye as the other glances into the lens. She carefully zoomed in on a swatch of fabric.

She was relieved with their new, high-quality equipment. She could now clearly see into the weave of the spacesuit. She could even spot the dust on it. But the close-up revealed not just one new problem, but two.

Facing Problems

The first problem was that the degradation of the fabric meant that she needed another set of x-rays. She then had to run more tests if she wanted to properly document the worn section.

But the first problem was nothing compared to the second one. It was far worse and it was something she really wanted to avoid at all costs. She knew that she would rather want to experience twenty different root canals than have to face this.

She was given permission by her superiors to have access to classified information. In all her life, she had never been in a more tense situation than that interview.

But even that was more pleasant than what she was about to go through. She had to ask for more money.
