That vacation had been a year in the making for the Raikes family. They’d spent several months arranging and anticipating it.

They couldn’t believe it when their plans were jeopardized by the petty behavior of one airline employee, who appeared to have decided that today was a good day to ruin someone’s vacation. This is how it happened.

Emma Raikes publicized the tale and brought it to the public’s attention. Emma and her family had made a reservation for a trip from Manchester to Florida.

Among Emma’s guests were her 2-year-old niece Quinn, her mother, and five other family members. They were traveling to Disneyworld in Orlando for a two-week getaway. It was a dream come true for them! If only they could see how close their plans were to being thwarted.

The family had previously printed their boarding passes, packed the necessary belongings, and got their luggage inspected at the airport. The single most important thing on their minds now was what they would do when they reached Disneyworld.

They couldn’t have predicted that one employee at the airport would threaten to derail their trip.

Quinn’s Birthday

Quinn’s two-year-old birthday was the perfect occasion to appropriately celebrate their trip, and the whole extended family got together for the first time in a long time.

They’d even designed some special T-shirts with a Minnie Mouse design to commemorate the trip. They brought them with them to the airline. They had no idea that this seemingly innocuous act of celebration would later become their biggest difficulty.

The trouble began as soon as they checked their bags. Only a few hours remained till their plane’s doors were opened to the boarders. As a result, they had purchased tickets in advance that allowed them access to the airport lounge.

They could hardly ask for much more than a few hours of sleep before boarding, as it would be a long flight. However, they would have little time for rest.
